So into what category does Cytomedix (GTF) fit? It was up over 20% today and has been on an impressive run since it got FDA approval for Autologel on Sept 20th.

Cytomedix is in the Research Services industry. We dont cover that industry group on BioHealth Investor at the moment, but we are looking at expanding our daily top stocks list so check back soon.

I'm not sure what the "Research Services" group is and whether GTF is correctly categorized. Here is a description of what Cytomedix does from its website:
"Cytomedix is a biotechnology company that develops and licenses autologous cellular processes (i.e., using the patient’s own body products), including Cytomedix’s proprietary AutoloGel™ Process. The AutoloGel Process produces platelet-rich plasma (PRP) that contains multiple growth factors from the platelets and a fibrin matrix scaffold from the plasma. The Company currently markets the AutoloGel™ Process Centrifuge, the AutoloGel™ Component Kit, and certain commercially available reagents (i.e., calcium chloride, ascorbic acid, and bovine thrombin). Each component is a legally-marketed product that either has been cleared by FDA for marketing or is exempt from pre-market notification and clearance. The AutoloGel™ Centrifuge can be used for the production of PRP. The AutoloGel™ Component Kit can be used for wound care under the direction of a physician."
we follow the Yahoo Finance industry classification, which places GTF as a research services company, http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/768.html
I understand however that Yahoo Finance might miss sometimes, so that's why we are planning to expand the daily top stocks to include such industry groups that are not currently placed under healthcare by Yahoo, but we will.
