What is their relationship to Minrad?
The answer to that question is that Minrad (BUF) is the exclusive manufacturing partner for RxElite’s anesthetic gases. Minrad produces Sevoflurane, Isoflurane, and Enflurane for RxElite. RxElite then uses its connection to the top eight group purchasing organizations (GPO) in the US that account for 90% of the hospital sales to sell and distribute the product.
The recent acquisition of Finetech is a major coup for RxElite. Fineech was a former division of Par Pharma (PRX - NYSE). Teva has been trying to acquire Finetech. There is a lot of value in this transaction with Finetech's development and RxElite's distribution. Look for good things to come from this.
