Biotech and Medical Venture Deals Roundup

ActoGeniX (Belgium) is developing a pipeline of therapeutic products based on its TopAct™ technology platform with it’s most advanced candidate for Crohn’s disease, closed a $26M Series A led by GIMV and Life Sciences Partners. New investors include Aescap, Ventech and Baekeland Fonds.


BioBehavioral Diagnostics (Cambridge, MA) a developer of a diagnostic system for measuring the core components of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder closed a $8.5M Series A financing. The deal was led by Sevin Rosen Funds and Tullis-Dickerson.


AlphaVax (Durham, NC) a developer of vaccine products for infectious diseases (influenza & cytomegalovirus lead), biodefense and cancer, has raised approximately $12.65 million in Series E funding. Investors have not been disclosed.


NextWave Pharma (Buffalo Grove, Ill) a pediatric drug company operating in stealth mode, closed $40M in Series B funding. The round was led by return investors Sofinnova Ventures and Vivo Ventures.
