Isis Pharmaceuticals Recieves Key Bacterial Identification Patent
Isis (ISIS) announced today that it has recieved a key patent covering methodology for identifying bacterial organisms without time consuming culturing. The technology is being used in the Ibis T5000 biosensor being developed by the company's Ibis division.
The T5000 can be used in research, forensic identification, and detection of biowarfare threats. Isis has already installed three units in govermental agencies and expects commercial sales to begin later this year.
Isis stock ended the day yesterday on a late spike closing at $7.48 a share.
